“We need to brace ourselves and get ready, for us all to be safe and avoid other damages expected to be brought about by this potential weather disturbance,” Governor Jerry Singson during the emergency meeting with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) for a resource capability assessment in preparation for Typhoon Mawar.

From the projections and readiness alert, the Governor wants to position the province’s assets and logistics and ensure an immediate response during typhoon. He also made a directive to strictly implement critical preparedness measures to all the cities and municipalities of the province.

Typhoon “Mawar” is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Friday or Saturday and would be given the local name “Betty,” as reported by PAGASA.
