Governor Jerry Singson was invited as a Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker to promote the rich cultural heritage and the abounding tourist destinations with historical significance in the Province of Ilocos Sur at the Expo Maritime Philippines Cruise Travel Tourism and Maritime Career Convention 2024 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City last 11 June 2024.

Organized by the Worldwide Maritime Operations Company (WMOC), the convention gathered key government officials, industry stakeholders, cruise operators, and investors, with the Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco also sharing the government’s latest efforts towards the development of the country’s cruise tourism.

Gracing the Convention along with Governor Jerry Singson were Senator Cynthia Villar, Aklan Governor Jose Enrique “Joen” Miraflores, Ako Ilokano Ako Partylist Representative Richelle Singson, Malay Mayor Floribar Bautista, and Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano represented by Executive Assistant for Social Services Angelica Roa Yu.

Also in attendance during the opening day of the event were the Association for Cruises Development of Taiwan Chairman JP Tseng, Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA) Trustee Fe Abling Yu, Palafox Associates Founder Architect Felino Palafox, Jr., DOT Director Paulo Tugbang, DOT National Capital Region Director Sharlene Zabala-Batin, and cruise travel and tourism industry stakeholders.

Ilocos Sur Provincial Tourism Officer John Noel Andaya also took part on the event.
