President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. presided over a situation briefing with the local government officials and different agencies of Region 1 for updates in relation to the effects and onslaught of super typhoon Egay.

He also led the distribution of various government assistance.

Governor Jerry Singson thanked the President for the P15 million assistance for the province of Ilocos Sur; likewise for P3 million (cities) and P2 million (municipalities) for the 34 LGUs.

Since the onset of super typhoon Egay, the president ordered a whole-of-nation approach in dealing with the aftermath of the calamity and directed all concerned government agencies to ensure the rehabilitation of those affected by the super typhoon.
