The Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur through the Provincial Tourism and Development Office participated in the International Ecotourism Travel Mart (IETM) 2023, presented by the Asian Ecotourism Network (AEN) and organized by the International School of Sustainable Tourism (ISST), which opened at the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) in Silang, Cavite. The exhibit with the theme “Embracing
Authentic Ecotourism: An Ecotourism Festival” started last March 29 and ended April 2, 2023.
The booth showcased ecotourism sites of the province such as the Dive Areas of Ilocos Sur, Lugo Beach in Sinait, Sabang Surfing Point in Cabugao, Aw-Asen Falls in Sigay, Balled Twin Falls in Sugpon, Santiago Cove, and Caniaw Heritage Forest Park. PGIS-selling booth includes Vigan Empanada, Bagnet, Longganisa, Sto. Domingo Squash Ice Cream, Sugpon Ube Wine, Salcedo Tablea, Chocolate, Chichacorn and other OTOP of Ilocos Sur.
Provincial Tourism Officer John Noel Andaya promoted the province locally and internationally with various local and foreign delegates and tour operators.
