The first in Ilocos Sur and second in Region 1 – Solar Irrigation with Desalination Process – was blessed and inaugurated this 31 March 2023 at Brgy. Dardarat, San Juan. This is a significant and much needed project that can irrigate 30 hectares.

Governor Jerry Singson had finally addressed the fundamental challenge of farmers’ insufficiency of water for their agricultural lands. The main purpose of the system is to desalinate the water to be used by the farmers for their tobacco including its potability among households.

Board Members Efren Rafanan, Ronnie Rapanut, Christopher Baterina, Third Ranches, Art Oandasan and Jaja Tabios together with San Juan Mayor Ma. Elaine Sarmiento, Sta. Lucia Mayor Joseph Simon Valdez, and other representatives of the different municipalities accompanied the Governor during the event.
