The Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur is one with the Department of Health – Ilocos Region in its regionwide COVID-19 booster vaccination thru the launching ceremony of “PinasLakas” held at Provincial Farmers Livelihood Development Center today 26 July 2022.

“PinasLakas” is a national vaccination drive to intensify COVID-19 booster shots for the eligible population providing an additional layer of protection against the virus. This is to complement PBBM’s Presidential Directive on COVID-19 Mass Vaccination for his first 100 days which will target 90% vaccination of senior citizens to complete their 1st and 2nd dose and provide booster shots to 50% of the 12 years old and above population.

The said launching was participated by Governor Jerry Singson represented by Provincial Administrator Mr. Marlon Tagorda, Vice Governor Ryan Singson, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member and Committee on Health Chairman Ericson Singson, DOH Provincial Director Eng. John Foz, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Trina Talaga, PGIS heads of offices and employees.

Department of Health – Ilocos Region targeted around 1.7 million eligible individuals in the region.
