In accordance with Department of Tourism’s campaign for the Philippines to become a premier destination for food tourism in the world bearing the theme “Food Tripping Christmas,” Ilocos Sur participated with DOT’s 21st edition of ‘KAON TA, KAIN PA!’ Food And Travel Festival held at Ayala Abreeza Mall in Davao City.
Ilocos Sur’s exhibited native delicacies and artcraft were sikwate, dark chocolate, tablea, pastillas, balicotia, chichapop, turones de mani, Sigay, Suyo and Gregorio Del Pilar coffee beans, Vigan chicharon, Sinait native bawang, buri bag and abel products.
The Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur through the Provincial Tourism Development and Promotion Office represented by Gerald Montero, PPDO-LEIPO EnP. Lovey Anne Taaca and ISEED Marketing Cooperative represented by Emmylou Jomero of WYNN’S Food Products offered Sikwate as they showcase the Cacao industry of Salcedo to represent in Food Tripping Christmas.
The food bazaar features sumptuous traditional and modern holiday cuisines and local beverages of the Regions I, V, VI, VII, IX, X, XI, XII, XII, Cordillera Administrative Region and the National Capital Region.
