The Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur led the celebration of the Begnas Di Ilocos Sur 2024 at San Emilio, Ilocos Sur.

Various activities were conducted to promote public awareness of indigenous peoples and cultural communities. The celebration also highlights and recognizes traditional knowledge as a key to understanding nature and to recognize that special measures are required to protect the rights of the IPs and maintain their distinct cultures and ways of life.

“Itultuloy tayo nga ayaten ken ipannakkel ti kultura tayo nga Ilocano babaen ti panangibiag dagitoy as ONE BEGNAS, ONE IP, ONE ILOCOS SUR!” Governor Jerry Singson during his speech.

Aside from the Governor, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members Ben Maggay, Gina Cordero, Elpidio Quines, Candon City Mayor Eric Singson, NCIP Acting Regional Director Atty. Marvin Biligan, DTI Provincial Director Rosario Quodala, ISPPO PD Darnel Dulnuan, Atty. Pablito Sanidad Jr., and municipal mayors attended the opening program of the Begnas Di Ilocos Sur 2024.
