A total of 2,110 applicants were pre-qualified among the 2,546 across the region who flocked at the Provincial Farmers Livelihood Development Center for the ONE in Taiwan An Opportunity for New Employment, a program of the Manila Economic & Cultural Office, Pre-employment and Government Placement Bureau of the Department of Migrant Workers and the Migrant Office in Taiwan in partnership with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur.
This overseas job fair offered 4,000 jobs by 11 licensed recruitment agencies. A One-Stop-Shop was also installed, participated by the Philippine Statictics Authority, Social Security System, Department of Labor and Employment, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
The event was graced by Governor Jerry Singson, SPM Ronnie Rapanut, MECO Chairman Silvestre Bello III, DMW Undersecretary Bernard Olalia, MWO Taipei Cesar Chavez Jr., MECO Directors Tomas Guno, Wilson Tecson, Alice Visperas, PILMAT President Aida Gerodias, DOLE OIC Provincial Director Charity Ubilas and Provincial Administrator Marlon Tagorda.
The job fair became possible through the effort of Former Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson.
