The National Teachers’ Month 2024 kick-off ceremony was hosted by the Department of Education Region 1 held at the Candon City Arena this 5 September 2024. The annual conduct of this event is a month-long series of activities dedicated to appreciating educators’ hard work, dedication, and influence in shaping the nation’s future.

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur in partnership with the Ilocos Sur Medical Society provided free medical services for the educators. This event will culminate on 5 October 2024 which is the World Teachers’ Day.

Governor Jerry Singson represented by SPM Ercison Singson along with Representative Kristine Singson-Meehan, Candon City Mayor Eric Singson, municipal mayors of the 2nd district of Ilocos Sur, DepEd Undersecretary Mel John I. Verzosa, and DepEd Regional Director Tolentino G. Aquino attended the celebration.
