The Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur in partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs rolled out its Passport on Wheels in celebration of the Ilocos Sur Tourism Festival this 4 September 2024.

The event provided people with convenience, enabling them to save time, resources and to avoid the necessity of queuing at the DFA regional office for new passport applications or renewals.

The Provincial Tourism Development and Promotion Office led by Provincial Tourism Officer John Noel Andaya along with 18 DFA processors, brought consular services closer to the people. 467 applicants were catered to this one-day event. The passports will have a 10-year validity that could be used for travel or as an additional identification document.
