Provincial Caravan for the West Philippine Sea (WPS): Bayanihang Adhikain, Bayaning Aksiyon Para sa Kanlurang Dagat ng Pilipinas was conducted this 28 August 2024 at the Provincial Farmers Livelihood Development Center jointly organized by Tanggol Kalikasan, Department of the Interior and Local Government, University of Northern Philippines Institute of Environmental Governance and hosted by the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur.

Governor Jerry Singson presented the new, enhanced, and updated Provincial Action Plan as a guide for the conservation and protection of the WPS.

The Governor, along with DILG Assistant Secretary for International Relations Lilian M. De Leon led the signing of the commitment as part of the strong dedication to protect the West Philippine Sea. The signing also signaled a prompt implementation of the Provincial Action Plan.

The launching of the Bayanihang Adhikain Para Sa Kanlurang Dagat ng Pilipinas (GAWAD Bayaning Aksiyon) was also administered at the latter part of the event.

Other prominent individuals who attended the caravan were Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members, City/Municipal Mayors, National Security Council Director Cyril P. Cusi, BFAR Central Office Head – Law Enforcement Rommel Adolf Diciano, BFAR Region 1 Atty. Girly Dela Peña, UNP President Dr. Edwin Cadorna, Coast Guard Captain Mark Larsen Mariano, Deputy Brigade Commander 501 Brigade 5th ID PA Renante Salvador.

A Learning Site Visit was scheduled 29 August for the NGAs at Mangrove Area in Brgy. Bia-o, Sta. Maria, and Darapidap Seaside Plaza & Park, Candon City.
