In preparation for the Tourism Development Plan of the province and its entire 34 LGUs focusing on strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, resource optimization, and enhancing the province’s reputation as a premiere heritage destination, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur launched the two-day Focus Group Discussion (FGD) at the Conference Hall, Provincial Farmers Livelihood Development Center from 21 August to 22 August 2024

“Your insights, experience and expertise will play a crucial role in crafting a plan that is not only visionary but also rooted in the realities of our communities,” said Governor Jerry Singson in his inspirational message.

Participants include Tourism Officers, Committee Chair on Tourism, Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officers (LEDIPO), and Local Finance Committee members of the different LGUs of Ilocos Sur.

Dr. Aser Javier, the Principal Consultant of the governor, together with the Executive Assistant to the Office of the Vice Governor of Negros Occidental, Prof. Ellen Marie Jalandoni facilitated the event alongside tourism researchers Prof. Maribeth Pillo, Prof. Mariver Lorilla, as well as Ms. Rochelle Marri Lao and Mr. Gerard Vasquez.
