Governor Jerry Singson led the launching of the One Ilocos Sur Intertown Basketball Tournament on 11 May 2024 at the Candon City Arena with the participation of 32 teams representing cities and municipalities.

This exemplify his visionary approach in utilizing sports as a catalyst for community development and solidarity, creating an avenue for athletes to showcase their skills and fostering a sense of sportsmanship, camaraderie and healthy competition.

During the opening ceremony, the Governor further demonstrated his support and commitment to sports development by spearheading the distribution of basketballs to all 768 barangays in Ilocos Sur.

An exhibition game between PBA Legends and selected athletes was also conducted prior to the game proper where Candon City secured its first win against Sta. Cruz.
