Around 5,200 Barangay Health Workers of Ilocos Sur attended the 29th BHW Congress 2024 which served as a testament to the active engagement and commitment of the health department in fostering the development of local health systems and recognizing the frontline contributions of BHWs in achieving Universal Health Care (UHC) goals.

In attendance were Governor Jerry Singson, Vice Governor Ryan Singson, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members Gina Cordero, Ronnie Rapanut, Third Ranches, Art Oandasan, Efren Rafanan, BHW National President Zenaida Pulido, BHW Partylist Representative Angelica Natasha Co, and DOH Regional Director Paula Sydiongco.

The Governor appreciated the BHWs as the unsung heroes of our healthcare system, tirelessly dedicating themselves to serving the needs of the people of Ilocos Sur at the grassroots level.
