The Department of Health (DOH) led by RO1 Director Paula Paz Sydiongco turned over cheque amounting to P78,418,022.29 for 2nd tranch for the facilitiies of district hospitals and various health equipment to the provincial hospital, district hospitals and Rural Health Units of Ilocos Sur. This is an initiative towards achieving full implementation of Universal Health Care.

Equipment like dry heat sterilizer, dental unit chair with compressor, Continous Positive Airway Pressure, emergency cart, infant warmer, delivery table with detachable stirrups, blood extraction armchairs, cautery machines, and cardiotocography were distributed under the Health Facilities Enhancement Program.

Governor Jerry Singson, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members Efren Rafanan, Third Ranches, some Municipal Mayors, Provincial Administrator Marlon Tagorda, DOH Provincial Director Eng. John Foz, chief of hospitals and municipal health officers attended the blessing and turn-over ceremony.
