Typhoon Egay Rehabilitation and Recovery Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) has reached Ilocos Sur-affected farmers and distributed 90 cattles and 606 goats to provide alternative and sustainable livelihood opportunities for them.

Governor Jerry Singson and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members Efren Rafanan and Third Ranches joined Regional Livestock Focal Person Karen Paningbatan and Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Donna Rosario during the ceremonial distribution.

It can be recalled that Ilocos Sur is one of the provinces in Region 1 that suffered the onslaught of Super Typhoon Egay in terms of agricultural damages and losses to high-value crops and livestock.
