The month of June was declared as Dengue Awareness Month and to kick off the observance, the Department of Health Center for Health and Development in Ilocos Region (DOH-CHD-1) and the Provincial Health Office joint hands in launching its activity for the month-long celebration in Ilocos Sur.

Ensuring a Healthy and Safe Citizenry, Governor Jerry Singson engaged in the program and assisted the Director IV of DOH-CHD-1 Dr. Paula Paz Sydiongco and the Provincial Health Officer Dr. Trina Talaga in awarding of prizes and certificates to the winners of Defeat Dengue Drive Contest: Search for the Most Prepared Barangay. He also led the pledge of commitment to the participants.
