The Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur thru the Provincial Veterinary Office apprehended a private van loaded with 41 live piglets from the province of Abra that shall be transported to Ilocos Norte.

The driver failed to present any pertinent documents to the authorities at the Animal Quarantine Checkpoint in Ambulogan, Narvacan.

The confiscated piglets together with the arrested driver were brought to Narvacan Municipal Police Station and Ilocos Sur Veterinary Office for proper disposition.

Governor Jerry Singson mandated the intensification on the strict monitoring of exported live hogs in the province to safeguard the hog industry of Ilocos Sur.
