Governor Jerry Singson represented by SPM Christopher Baterina attended the Inauguration and Turn-over Ceremony of the Milkfish Nursery Facility at Barangay Nalvo, Santa Maria. This is a project of the Department of Agriculture Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources RO1 in partnership with LGU- Sta. Maria and University of Northern Philippines.

Along with SPM Baterina were BFAR 1 Regional Director Rosario Segundina Gaerlan, Mayor Brigido Camarillo Jr., UNP President Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, Office-in-charge, BFAR Ilocos Sur, Mr. Martin T. Allayban, UNP Vice President for Finance and Administration Mr. Albert R.Tejero and UNP Vice President for Research and Extension Dr. Fatima Rocamora.

The Milkfish Nursery has a research facility to solve the practical problems in milkfish production and increase its productivity.
