“We take a lesson from a bamboo tree, bend with the wind but do not break!”

An excerpt from the message of the Governor delivered by SBM Abraham Christopher Baterina who represented Governor Jerry Singson at the culminating activity of the Philippine Bamboo Month celebration with the Ilocos Sur Bamboo Industry Development Council on 29 September 2022.

He was joined by SPM Elpidio Quines, Sr. and representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Agrarian Reform, Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College, Local Government Unit of San Emilio, Philippine National Police, 71st IB of the Philippine Army and barangay officials and residents of Matibuey, San Emilio, Ilocos Sur as an initiative to establish an income generating activity utilizing bamboo which is abundant in the area.
