Through the personal request of Governor Jerry Singson with the Department of Labor and Employment RO1, 175 interns were approved to undergo a 3-month Government Internship Program (GIP) in the 34 LGUs and at the provincial government.

This 6 October 2022, the interns had their orientation which was attended by DOLE RO1 OIC Honorina Baga, the Governor, Ilocos Sur Field Office OIC PD Charity Ubilas, PGIS PESO and the interns themselves.

Interns were college graduates that were provided employments to the local governments.
