As part of the celebration of Candon City’s Tobacco Festival, Governor Jerry Singson served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the 1st Miss Tobacco Philippines 2023 held at Candon City Arena, this 25 March.

In his speech, the Governor honored and recognized the hardworks and contributions of every tobacco farmers in the development of the province particularly in agricultural productivity. He vowed to remain committed with his vision to implement programs that would be beneficial not only to the economic development of the province but mainly to the improvement of the quality of life of every farmers. He also commended the administration of Mayor Eric Singson and other city officials for their progressive efforts in leading the City of Candon.

Along with the Governor were SPM Ericson Singson, SPM Gina Cordero, SPM Mildred Elaydo, Deputy Speaker Kristine Singson-Meehan, Candon City Mayor Eric Singson and NTA Administrator Belinda Sanches.

Meanwhile, Miss Erika Klein Ligudan of National Tobacco Administration – La Union was crowned as the first ever Miss Tobacco Philippines.
