“Through the Universal Healthcare, we can strengthen our health system by providing all individuals and communities the health services they need without suffering financial hardship. In a developing country such as the Philippines that large faction of our population can hardly afford the increasing cost of health services. Thus, it must be on top of our priorities to narrow the gap between our people and the health system,” a part of the message of Governor Jerry Singson during the Provincial Universal Health Care Summit held at the Provincial Farmers Livelihood Development Center, today 11 August 2022.

The summit was also attended by the officials and members of the Department of Health in Ilocos Region, the rest of the provincial officials, local government units, national government agencies, and non-government organizations.

In connection with this, different district hospitals and private hospitals of Ilocos Sur feature their best practices and achievements in fighting COVID-19 and other diseases for the past two years.
